USTR announces additional Section 301 increases – Tungsten, Wafers and Polysilicon

The United States Trade Representative (USTR) has determined to include 5 additional HTSUS subheadings subject to increased Section 301 duties. This covers certain tungsten products, wafers and polysilicon.

The following increases will take place effective January 1, 2025, at 12:01 am EDT:

  • Tungsten, unwrought, 8101.94.00, an increase to 25%
  • Tungsten bars and rods, 8101.99.10, an increase to 25%
  • Tungsten, articles nesoi, 8101.99.80, an increase to 25%
  • Silicon containing by weight not less than 99.99% of silicon, 2804.61.00, an increase to 50%
  • Chemical elements doped for use in electronics, in the form of discs, wafers, etc, 3818.00.00, an increase to 50%

The USTR has published the additional list of products on December 16,2024 with their Section 301 tariff increases in the Federal Register (FR).

Included on this Notice was a correction to a publishing error pertaining to medical gloves of vulcanized rubber classified under 4015.12.10.
