SIMA – Provisional duties now payable on certain pea protein from China

Provisional duties are now payable on certain goods subject to the Pea Protein SIMA case, originating in or exported from China. This, after the Canada Border Services Agency’s (CBSA) preliminary determination of dumping and subsidizing, made on July 22, 2024.

Full details regarding the CBSA’s preliminary determination are available here.

The Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) will now perform an inquiry to determine whether the dumping and subsidizing of the above-mentioned goods has caused injury or retardation or is threatening to cause injury to domestic producers.

Details of the CITT injury inquiry will be available on the CITT website.
