SIMA duties no longer payable on certain steel plate from Bulgaria, Czech Republic and Romania

On March 20, 2025, the Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT), in collaboration with the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), concluded an expiry review of the Steel Plate 5 SIMA case. The CITT determined that the order’s expiry was unlikely to lead to continued or resumed dumping of the goods. Consequently, the order has been rescinded, and SIMA duties on imports of these goods are no longer payable as of March 20, 2025. Complete details of the CITT’s decision and the CBSA’s expiry review determination are available.
