Sec 201 In-Quota Quantity Increased for Solar Cells

The White House announced an increase in the tariff rate quota (TRQ) quantity for Certain Crystalline Silicon Photovoltaic Cells (CSPC), whether or Not Partially or Fully Assembled Into Other Products. The quantity allowed within the TRQ had been 5.0 gigabits and was increased to 12.5 gigabit, retroactive to August 1, 2024.

U.S. Custom and Border Protection’s (CBP’s) Quota Bulletin says the increased quantity will appear on a separate line in their TRQ Commodity Status Reports.

Subject goods include imports of CSPV cells under Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) 8541.42.0010 and other CSPV products, such as modules under HTS subheading 8541.43.0010.  Imports beyond the TRQ may be subject to 14.25 percent additional Section 201 duties for the period February 7, 2024, through February 6, 2025.

Questions on Section 201 duties may be directed to your Livingston Account Representative.
