Imports of Russian Uranium to be prohibited

The U.S. Department of State announced that the President has signed Bill 1042, which prohibits the importation of unirradiated low-enriched uranium (i.e., uranium that has not been in a reactor) that is produced in Russia or by a Russian entity.

This ban is effective August 12, 2024 but includes a waiver process with the Department of Energy (DOE), in consultation with the Departments of State and Commerce. The bans runs through 2028.
