Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) announced on August 14, 2020, that it has launched an investigation under the Special Import Measures Act (SIMA) respecting the alleged injurious dumping of certain wheat gluten originating or exported from Australia, Austria, Belgium, France, Germany and Lithuania.
The investigation follows a complaint filed by ADM Agri‑Industries Co.
Subsequently, on August 17, 2020, the Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) gave notice that it has initiated an injury inquiry to determine if the alleged dumping of wheat gluten has caused injury or retardation or is threatening to cause injury to Canadian manufacturers.
A detailed product description of the subject goods is provided in Appendix 1 of the notice.
The subject goods are classified under HS codes 1109.00.10.00 & 1109.00.20.00. HS codes are listed for convenience of reference only. Refer to the product definition for the authoritative details regarding the subject goods.
Parties wishing to participate in the preliminary injury inquiry must file a notice of participation with the CITT on or before August 27, 2020.
