Excise Duty Rates Increasing on Alcohol, Beer, and tobacco products Effective April 1, 2024

Effective April 1, 2024, the excise duty (ED) rates applicable on spirits, wine, beer, and tobacco products will increase.

Under the Excise Act, 2001 the rates of excise duty are adjusted annually every April 1^st, based on changes to the Consumer Price Index.

The complete list of new excise duty rates applicable for 2024 have been published by CRA and are available in Excise Duty Rates. This document also provides the ED rates for the previous 4 years.
