Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) mandatory eFiling expected in 2025

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission  (CPSC) is expected to require mandatory filing of their Partner Government Agency (PGA) message set in early 2025 via their eFiling initiative. The PGA message set is expected to be based upon information already found on the General Certificate of Conformity or the Children’s Product Certificate. These certificates are currently required for products under CPSC’s jurisdiction.

The CPSC initiative will require importers of regulated consumer products to electronically file (eFile) data elements from a certificate of compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), via a Partner Government Agency (PGA) Message Set.

Importers should begin collecting CPSC certification information and be prepared to provide the certificate reference number related to consumer products with their import documentation.
