Consultations on the proposed guidance document for foods sold through ecommerce

Health Canada and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency are looking for input from public and industry and seeking feedback on the provision of information for foods sold in Canada via e-commerce.

Consultation are being held on the proposed development of guidance document providing food information for foods sold to consumers through e-commerce. Consultation is open from May 9th, 2022 to July 8th, 2022

E-commerce platforms selling food should provide consumers with the necessary information to make informed food purchasing decisions. Provide your input on the following:

  • proposed principles and approach for future development of guidance on this subject; and,
  • challenges faced in obtaining, providing and/or maintaining information about foods sold through e-commerce.
