Consultation on Proposed Regulations for Coal Tar-Based Sealant Products

Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) is reaching out to industry to share their views and provide input on the Consultation on Proposed Regulations for Coal Tar-Based Sealant Products. The goal of this consultation is to inform interested parties and solicit feedback on the main elements of a proposed regulation for coal tar-based sealant products.

ECCC proposes adding coal tars and their distillates to   the  Schedule 1 chemical substance listing. The proposed order adding coal tars and their distillates was published in Canada Gazette, Part I: vol. 155, No. 26 – June 26, 2021.

You may review the background and overview of the proposed regulations, key questions for discussion  that the Government of Canada is soliciting from stakeholders, noted in the consultation document to assist with the development of the proposed regulations.
