Conclusion of negotiations for a Canada-Indonesia Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA)

The federal government is continuing to expand trade and investment with large, fast-growing markets with the conclusion of negotiations for the Canada-Indonesia Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) on November 15, 2024.

Indonesia is Canada’s largest export market in Southeast Asia, exporting agricultural products, manufactured goods, and natural resources. In 2023, Canadian exports to Indonesia totaled $284 million, while Canadian imports from Indonesia reached $181 million.

CEPA will help Canadians succeed at home and around the world and is expected to come into force as soon as possible.
