Re-investigations are conducted by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) to update values, establish normal values for new products or models subject to the measures in force, and establish normal values for new co-operative exporters.
On May 10, 2023, the CBSA concluded a re-investigation of the Concrete Reinforcing Bar SIMA case currently in force.
During the investigation, CBSA sent out requests for information (RFI) to all known importers, exporters, producers and vendors to solicit information on the costs and selling prices of subject goods.
Exporters which submitted a complete response to the RFI’s and for whom the verification was considered reliable were issued normal values for future shipments.
As such, imports of subject goods, exported to Canada by co-operative exporters will not be subject to anti-dumping duties as long as the goods are sold to Canada at or above the normal value issued by CBSA.
Importers are remined that if using the services of a customs broker to clear their importations, the brokerage firm should be advised if the goods are subject or not to anti-dumping and countervailing duties and be provided with sufficient information necessary to clear the shipments.
Complete details regarding the conclusion of the re-investigation are available here.
