Further to what has been published in the Federal Register today, a petition prepared and presented to the United States International Trade Administration on January 26, 2017 asking for a postponement “in light of the number of programs under investigation, the number of company and government respondents, and the expected complexity of the issues”, has been granted.
The result of this action is that the results for the Preliminary Determination for the Countervailing Duty investigation into various softwood lumber products from Canada has been extended to “no later than 130 days after the date on which this investigation was initiated”, which, in this case, is April 24, 2017.
It is important to remember that the Preliminary determination for the Antidumping Duty Investigation is not affected by this action, and remains on track to be decided no later than May 4, 2017.
