Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) to update information required for APHIS core message set

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) is updating the information required to be reported to the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) for several of their Core programs in their Partnering Government Agency (PGA) message set. Imports of both plant and animal products will be impacted by the updates.

APHIS will require the additional following information:

  • Net number of kilograms or grams of the imported product. Some products will also require additional units of measure.
  • Province or State of source for Canadian or Mexican sourced products.
  • Name and address of the Grower, Producer, Manufacturer, Packer, Consolidator, Processing Establishment, Rancher, or Farmer to verify the source of the product as far back in the supply chain as possible.
