Register for this webinarDavid Merritt has over 58 years of international trade compliance experience with a broad understanding of the global trade environment. He has developed expertise in the applicability of customs and export controls for global organizations.
David has completed compliance related assessments, audits and due diligence reviews throughout the EMEA region, as well as providing reviews, advice and training to major multinational companies on logistics, import and export control policies, regulations and licensing procedures.
He has addressed the World Customs Organization, the Strategic Account Management Association (SAMA), chaired a panel of regulatory specialists at the Advanced Forum on Global Customs Compliance, addressed the ICPA on changes in European Legislation, and is currently supporting the UK government's Free Trade discussions.
As Director, Global Trade Consulting, Gavin focuses on delivering targeted and timely compliance and cost reduction solutions to Livingston’s clients.
He has 40 years of experience in operations and consulting, specializing in customs, logistics, process improvements, and submissions to customs authorities. Gavin’s expertise covers business transformation, customs audit support, and the leveraging of trade agreements and duty minimization regimes.
Gavin holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Exeter and is a Six Sigma Black Belt. He is a member of the ICPA, the UK CPG, a Chartered Member of the UK Institute of Logistics and a regular conference speaker.
As Director, Product Management & Marketing, David is responsible for increasing Livingston’s brand awareness in the UK and developing Livingston’s UK clearance technology.
David recently joined Livingston and brings to the role over 20 years’ experience in product and marketing, which has given him valuable experience in customer and segment management. David’s areas of expertise are product, marketing, design, and digital transformation, and he is skilled in business development, AI, product operating models and project management.
David holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology, Inbound Marketing & Marketing Mix Modeling, and is a seasoned moderator and speaker at global events.
