CN Rail signal and communications workers likely to begin strike

The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) gave the Canadian National (CN) Railway a 72-hour strike notice over the weekend, which means union workers may begin to strike after midnight, on Tuesday January 28.

The union represents 750 CN employees who work in signals and communications.

In a notice on CN’s website, the rail company states:
There will be no impact on our operations as a result of a work stoppage. CN’s contingency plans are in place, operations will continue, and our dedicated teams are prepared to ensure the seamless continuity of service.
