On January 13, 2025, the Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) issued a finding of injury regarding the dumping of certain concrete reinforcing bar originating in or exported from Bulgaria, Thailand, and the United Arab Emirates. This follows the Canada Border Services Agency’s (CBSA) final determination on October 18, 2023.
As a result of the finding, final anti-dumping duties are payable on imports of the subject goods released by the CBSA on or after January 13, 2025.
Please note that the CBSA has terminated the dumping investigation for the exporter Thai Steel Profile Public Company Limited of Thailand. Therefore, SIMA duties are not payable on subject goods from this exporter.
For complete details, refer to the concrete reinforcing bar 5 SIMA case listed under the Measures in Force. Importers are reminded to inform their customs brokers if the goods are subject to anti-dumping and countervailing duties and to provide sufficient information to ensure accurate assessment of SIMA, if applicable.
