The Port of Montreal dockworkers’ union (Syndicat des débardeurs du port de Montréal) has announced that job action will begin at 11:00 a.m. ET on Thursday October 31st at two of the port’s terminals. The union has stated that this general strike will continue until further notice.
The terminals that will be impacted by the unlimited strike starting Thursday are operated by Termont. Shippers can expect significant delays as the terminals in question are responsible for approximately 40% of container traffic.
