The Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT), on July 2, 2024, determined that there is evidence that the dumping of certain concrete reinforcing bar, originating in or exported from Bulgaria, Thailand and the UAE has caused injury or are threatening to cause injury to the Canadian domestic industry.
This preliminary injury determination by the CITT follows the Canada Border Services Agency’s (CBSA) investigation initiated on May 3, 2024, into the alleged injurious dumping of the above-mentioned goods. The CBSA’s preliminary determination is expected within 30 days of this CITT decision. Should the CBSA make a determination of injury at that time, provisional SIMA duties will become payable on subject goods.
