The Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT), on May 7th, 2024, determined that there is evidence that the dumping of certain wire rod, originating in or exported from China, Vietnam and Egypt has caused injury or are threatening to cause injury to the Canadian domestic industry.
This preliminary injury determination by the CITT follows the investigation initiated by the Canada Border Service Agency (CBSA) on March 8th, 2024, into the alleged injurious dumping of the above-mentioned goods. The CBSA’s preliminary determination is expected within 30 days of this CITT decision. Should the CBSA make a determination of injury at that time, provisional SIMA duties will become payable on subject goods.
