The Michigan Department of Transportation announced that maintenance work on the International Blue Water Bridge (BWB) which spans Port Huron, Michigan and Point Edwards, Ontario, will begin on July 5, 2023.
The Federal Bridge Corporation Limited (FBCL) will complete maintenance on the westbound span of the Blue Water Bridge (BWB) from July 5 to Oct. 23.
This work will close the westbound span of the BWB from Canada to the U.S.
During the closure both directions of traffic will be maintained on the eastbound span, from the U.S. to Canada.
To reduce impacts to traffic, one lane will be reserved for traffic entering the U.S. and two lanes will be available for traffic heading into Canada.
During the project wide loads will be restricted to less than 3.35 meters (11 feet).
Expect delays during this time and be sure to use Custom and Border Protection’s (CBP’s) Border Wait Times website or app.
